Key fact From 450°C

01 — Understand

ANANKÉ technology, in three points

ANANKÉ integrates and manufactures waste-heat recovery solutions. It accelerates industrial energy transformation by deploying leading market technologies. Its patented KEOS and IONEX cogeneration modules recover high-temperature waste heat and convert it into compressed air, electricity and useful heat for industry.

01 The solution

Cogeneration using high-temperature industrial waste heat.

02 Technology principle

Based on the Ericsson engine, KEOS and IONEX modules turn waste heat into compressed air or electricity while recovering useful heat.

03 Applications

  • Industrial compressed air
  • Power generation
  • Useful heat
  • Waste streams above 450°C

ANANKÉ integrates and manufactures waste-heat recovery solutions. It accelerates the energy transformation of industry by deploying technologies ranked among the best on the market.

Alongside its systems-integration expertise, ANANKÉ has developed its own technology to recover high-temperature industrial waste heat, starting at 450°C.

This patented technology sits at the heart of two cogeneration modules: KEOS, which produces compressed air and useful heat, and IONEX, which produces electricity and useful heat.

KEOS, ANANKÉ’s eco-compressor

KEOS and IONEX are dedicated high-temperature waste-heat cogeneration modules that convert rejected heat into compressed air, electricity and useful industrial heat.

ANANKÉ’s innovative patented system is based on the Ericsson engine and specifically targets high-temperature industrial heat streams from 450°C. It is available in two cogeneration configurations:

  • KEOS produces compressed air and recovers useful heat.
  • IONEX generates electricity while also recovering useful heat.

Designed for thermal waste streams above 450°C and output below 1 MW:

  • Electrical-equivalent output: 40 kWe
  • Recovered waste-heat capacity: 300 kWth
  • Useful thermal output: 200 kWth
  • Combined heat and power efficiency: 80%
  • Module lifetime: 20 years
  • Avoided CO₂ emissions from gas: 404 tonnes per year
  • Avoided CO₂ emissions from electricity: 101 tonnes per year

Project awards

  • 2015 | Grand Prix National de l’Ingénierie
  • 2019 | Winner of the ADEME i-Nov innovation competition
  • 2022 | Winner of the ADEME IBaC PME call under France’s industrial decarbonisation strategy
  • 2023 | Techinnov Award, France 2030 — Energy & Decarbonisation category

KEOS and IONEX are supplied as plug-and-play cogeneration systems that integrate smoothly without disrupting existing industrial operations. The CRISTEL project demonstrates both ANANKÉ’s equipment-manufacturing expertise and its ability to integrate effective industrial waste-heat recovery solutions.
